Okoro Media Systems, manufacturer of digital entertainment systems for the high end audio video market, is pleased to announce the availability of CableCARD tuners in our high end Digital Entertainment Systems. Okoro Media Systems will be one of the few dedicated media center manufacturers selling and supporting systems with CableCARD, Blu-ray/HD-DVD formats and units with 4 terabytes of storage.
“CableCARD is another part of the solution we want to provide to our customers. So, we are very excited about the integration of this technology into our Digital Entertainment Systems (DES) and we will soon make it available with our entry level units also. Now, our customers will be able to watch and record their favorite premium TV shows and sporting events in HD” says Christopher Curry VP of Sales and Operations.
Current premium and HD content from digital cable is encrypted requiring customers to have a cable box. You can now access this content via CableCARD on an OMS Digital Entertainment System eliminating the need for a digital cable box. For customers that choose not to use a CableCARD, you can watch and record basic cable TV channels, over-the-air HD channels, and digital cable channels that are not encrypted sometimes referred to as “clear QAM”. The channels and programming you can access depends on your cable provider, subscription package, and location.

The following models are now shipping with CableCARD as an option:

OMS-TH540

OMS-TH550

OMS-BX300

OMS-GX100
