Voodoo Omen and Envy press shots galore - Engadget.com

You think we’re tired of Omen and Envy 133 yet? Fat chance. That LCD-bedecked desktop behemoth and thintop contender (pictured) are both quite a new direction Voodoo, and their launch seems particularly good timing given Dell’s apparent reshuffling of its XPS and Alienware lineups. But forget market appropriateness, let’s concentrate on the sexy…

The HTC Touch Pro - Engadget Mobile

The HTC Touch Pro - Engadget Mobile

Call it Raphael no longer! HTC has officially thrown the cover off its Touch Pro today — the QWERTY slider sibling of the recently-unveiled Touch Diamond — which should cover the bases for those who loved the Diamond’s keen looks but decided they’d go our of their gourds without a full set of physical keys at their disposal. Under that glossy black shell lies WiFi, HSPA with a solid 7.2Mbps on the downstream, Bluetooth, 2.8-inch VGA display, Windows Mobile 6.1 featuring HTC’s TouchFLO 3D interface, a 3.2 megapixel camera, a half gig of ROM, and 288MB of RAM. It’s not going to win any "world’s thinnest" records with an 18.05mm waistline, but those five rows of textual healing don’t come without a price. The first batch of devices will be Europe-bound in "late summer" with 900 / 2100MHz 3G alongside the quadband GSM and EDGE; North and Latin American versions are promised for later in the year.

Verizon gets official with $28 billion Alltel acquisition - Engadget

Verizon gets official with $28 billion Alltel acquisition - Engadget

It looks like those talks between Verizon and Alltel were pretty deep after all, as the two companies have just come out and made the acquisition official. According to the official announcement, the aggregate value of the transaction is $28.1 billion, and the two companies are aiming to have it completed by the end of the year — assuming all the necessary regulatory approvals come through. For its part, Verizon is of course boasting that this is a win for customers all around, saying that the merger will create an "enhanced platform of network coverage, spectrum and customer care to better serve the growing needs of both Alltel and Verizon Wireless customers for reliable basic and advanced broadband wireless services." Alltel President and CEO Scott Ford also echoed that sentiment, although his role with the future company seems to be less than defined at the moment, with the official announcement only going so far as to say that he will continue in his current position as head of Alltel "until the merger is completed."

Google Andriod Demo Today

Good news from the Google camp as they demonstrated today  at a press conference their new Android OS on a HTC Dream phone.  Check out the video below. This looks like to be a killer and Microsoft and Apple with have stiff competition on the mobile phone OS market.

Your options are fairly limited when scouring the market for a twin-CableCARD HTPC, but thanks to a new partnership between Cannon PC and Microsoft, yet another rival will be jousting for your business. Here soon, the outfit will be offering its Home and Pro A/V series Media Center PCs with dual CableCARDs pre-installed, and if you’re willing to wait a touch longer, a quad-CableCARD model will also be available. Oh, and if that chassis above looks strangely familiar, that’s because it is: Cannon has simply grabbed OrigenAE’s famed shell, painted it black and slapped its own logo up there (though we aren’t complaining or anything). The pictured EX line is just one of the many families with the new functionality, so head on over to the company’s website if you’re interested in shelling out.

Nintendo’s Wii Fit gets official, set to launch in just two days - Engadget

Nintendo’s Wii Fit gets official, set to launch in just two days - Engadget

If for some reason you’ve been so far outside of the natural world that you were unaware of Nintendo’s impending Wii Fit firestorm, this should get you back in the swing of things. Today the big N has made the forthcoming release of the exercise / gaming sensation officially official in the States. The device is available exclusively at the Nintendo World store in New York City starting today, but will hit other shelves on May 21st, will run you a thrifty $89.99, and launches with software containing more than 40 activities. Of course, you’ll never get to experience any of those activities, as there’s already a run on stock, and if you haven’t pre-ordered then you’re pretty much left to the whim of eBay sellers and their inflated prices. Thanks Nintendo!

Blackberry Bold release dates, pricing leak out - Engadget

Blackberry Bold release dates, pricing leak out - Engadget

Those of you dying to get your QWERTY on with RIM’s hot new Blackberry Bold can start marking your calendars and stashing cash under the cushions — release dates and pricing info have hit the tubes this morning. As expected, AT&T will get the Bold first in July for $300, while Verizon, Sprint, and T-Mobile customers will have to wait until September. Oddly, T-Mo subs will have to cough up an extra $50, which seems a little unfair. Of course, these aren’t official dates and prices, so things are likely to change, but we’d say everything seems in the ballpark, wouldn’t you?
