Sony Xperia ION Review

Sony Xperia ION
The Sony Xperia ION is a mix of good and bad. See why in our review.

Sony Xperia ION Is A Solid Phone Only Held Back By Software

*NOTE: This review was done before the recent Android 4.0 update For the Xperia ION

And that’s definitely the case here with the Xperia ION which you will see in your video review. It’s a smartphone that gives a mixed feeling. One part you’ll love the hardware with its bright 4.7 inch HD display that uses the Bravia Mobile Engine, 1.5 GHz dual-core processor, 4G LTE and 12 Megapixel Camera with LED flash and 1080p HD video capture. It has a great solid build quality and feels like a premium phone when you hold it in the hand. On the bad side of things. Its running Android 2.3 Gingerbread with Timescape UI which is just slow and clunky. The capacitive touch buttons are unresponsive a good amount of the time and the 12 Megapixel Camera takes decent phones but not what you would expect from Sony as  you would expect a lot more than just on par with the rest of the 8 Megapixel cameras in the market.  With those caveats the phone its hard to recommend until it gets Android 4.0 and even then if you’re not getting it free on contract there are just better phones available on the AT&T network . See our video review for more details.
