Today apple announced the new iPhone 6s and iPhone 6S. Both phones improve on last year’s model while keeping many things the same. Here are the 4 key New Features Of The iPhone 6s and 6s Plus
New 12 Megapixel Main and 5 Megapixel Selfie Camera Upgrades
The feature that will be most talk about and scrutinized will be the new 12 Megapixel iSight camera. Apple claims the camera does a better job handling more pixels than its competitors. They actually claimed that more pixels can make the image worse? I’m not so sure about that one I have a feeling its more about sensor size than anything but our friend SomeGadgetGuy will surely have a lot to say on this claim.
The camera has also been upgrade to shoot 4K video at 30 FPS. This catches the iPhone up with a lot of the competition on android that have shot 4K for a long time. Apple claim their 4K will shoot with a much more consistent frame rate which will keep video smooth if you move. However those that choose the 16 GB model will find themselves running out of space soon shooting too much 4K
The front facing camera has also been upgrade to 5 megapixel and utilities the display for flash called Retina Flash. There is a chip inside that makes the display light up 3 times brighter when taking a selfie. This should help improve selfies for iPhone users who love to take them, which there is a lot of them.
3D Touch For New Tactile Feedback
Introduced with the new iPhone 6s and 6s Plus is 3D force touch which allows you to touch the screen with different amount of pressure to do actions. It’s deeply integrated into iOS 9 and gives you the ability to press lightly on an app like the messenger to preview the message or the camera icon to show more menu options, you can hover over the calendar appointment to see details or a calendar invite in an email to see if you are free during that those before accepting. When you fully press down on the icon the app will open. This gives the iPhone a more tactile feel when using it. There will be 3rd party app support available as well.
New A9 processor. Faster and Better
Apple has a new A9 processor inside the iPhone 6S and 6S Plus. The processor is said to be around 70% faster than the previous processor. There isn’t any benchmarks yet but it’s not like last years processor was slow so we should see some minor improvements from day-to-day use.
Faster Touch ID
Apple has upgrade touch ID to the second Gen which they said will be twice as fast as touch ID before. There were users that disable Touch ID before because of it being too slow to recognize and the 2nd generation is expected to help fix that.
That pretty much sums up the changes. The new models have the same screen size and resolution and same battery capacity. Both iPhone 6S And 6S Plus will have 16 Gb, 64 GB and 128 GB models for $199, $299 and $399 respectively. There is also monthly installment options available which you can check our more in our video below. Pre-orders for the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus start September 12 and the release date is September 25th.
